Pouring concrete in the village of Mendocino

Mendocino sits on a headland above the Pacific, about 10 miles south of Fort Bragg, with Highway 1 running through the village. About 930 people live here year-round, and most of the village sits inside the Mendocino and Headlands Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

  • Historic district review. Exterior work in the district is reviewed by the Mendocino Historical Review Board, and most projects also need a coastal development permit from the county. Your architect or builder handles those approvals, and we plan the pour once they are in place.
  • Coastal weather. Summers are foggy and mild, winters are wet, and the village averages about 43 inches of rain a year. We schedule around the weather and will talk through timing and backup dates with you.
  • Small lots and sensitive ground. Village lots are tight, and bluff-top and headland-edge sites are fragile. A line pump lets us place concrete from the street without heavy mixer trucks crossing lawns, landscaping or soft ground.
  • Wells and water storage. Many Mendocino properties depend on wells or hauled water, so well seals, storage-tank pads and foundations are common projects on the coast.
  • Planning ahead. We are based in Santa Rosa, so Mendocino coast pours are scheduled in advance. Call early with your date, address and access details.
